SAY NO TO PLASTIC
Picture book illustration

Ned Heaton is an inspiring young man who when still in primary school, started out on mission to rid the world of any more plastic toothbrushes. He created a business called Turtle Tribe to help reduce the use of plastics. Ned and his dad Shane then wrote a book. It is a story of a boy and his bird friend who concerned with the amount of plastic they are finding on the local beach, go on a mission to build awareness of our use of plastic. I was invited to illustrate their wonderful story Say No To Plastic, It was published by Little Steps Publishing.
This book took me under 6 months to illustrate. I worked closely with the publisher and Shane and Ned to illustrate the story. In addition to the story I illustrated lots of things to find and surprises in the book.
The book was also a finalist in the Wilderness Society's Environmental Picture Book awards in 2023:

My favourite part of this project was the marine scenes and also the top down view of the village.
