In the Studio

The 100 cat faces for my Kitty Couture piece for the Salamanca Art Center Resident art exhibition mid 2026 is finished and hanging up in the exhibition. I had to adjust the number back to 50 for reduced space.  They ended up being exhibited as one piece rather than seperate pieces. The feedback so far has been really encouraging. If you get a chance to drop in it will be on display for another month.

Catworld, the comic style picture book about giant cats I am working on is also progressing. I have been offered an artist retreat later in the year (more on this to come) which will really help me focus. I am still looking to find the right agent who can help get Cat and Whisk out into the world.  Someone who has an editorial background, knows about publishing internationally and of course loves cats.

I am also preparing for my solo exhibition in late October- Catworld comes to Hobart! There will be a 7ft tall cat as part of the exhibition and celebration of some of Hobart's most beautiful buildings. Behind the scenes of creating the Catworld picture book will also be part of the installation.

Last month I also got to participate in the ANJA Nature Journaling retreat. It was a lovely break away from things to get out in nature and do some journalling. I also taught some classes on drawing leaves and flowers.

It sure has been busy- but also some really great memories and times being with fellow artists, writers and nature journalists.

Keep checking back here for updates.

Until then happy drawing!
